Take the Pro-Ethics Pledge Today! Is Web professionalism and ethics something you are concerned about? IWA wants to see if fairness and trust on the Web is an important enough of an issue to start a pledge. As a professional association of individuals, IWA believes accountability begins and ends with an individual, and that our laws provide only a basis for "legal ethics". These are the laws which keeps us honest because we feel the threat of being sued, fined or even jailed. In response to the legal initiatives currently taking place on topics such as copyrights, spamming, and privacy, IWA thought it would come up with a pledge to see if there are people who care enough to take personal responsibility before legal responsibility... If you agree with the following four statements, please consider taking the Pro-Ethics Pledge and consider using the logo in the left margin to demonstrate your individual commitment to a better Web. I will uphold principles of integrity to myself and the Web profession; I understand that I am one among many and, as such, my participation in the Web profession is grounded in principles of democracy; I will not seek harm on another's property, whether physical or intellectual; I understand that I am a role model and that I must perform accordingly, both fair and trustworthy. I Agree
